Concrete City was supposed to be an Eden of Industrial housing. Each duplex consisted of seven rooms: living, dining and kitchen on the first floor and four bedrooms on the second. They also included a cellar, an enclosed patio, and a concrete outhouse. All of the buildings were painted white with dark green trim and to keep up appearances the company sponsored garden contests, encouraging the planting of flowers and shrubs.
