Underwater lie the stone blocks from a partially collapsed railroad bridge in a Pennsylvania ghost town. Rausch Gap owed its existence to coal and the railroad. By the late 1800s the poor quality of the coal was recognized and the economics of sustaining a settlement in a place so isolated were no longer feasible. Once boasting a population over a thousand, it is now desolate. Random foundations, a cemetery, and the railroad bridge remain as reminders of this once bustling community.
